Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School Has Busy December

Students and faculty at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School on Cortelyous Lane had a very busy December.

On Dec. 15, students, parents and faculty delivered crates of food and more than $900 in cash to the Franklin Township Food Bank. The students raised the food and money during the course of the year.

The students also partnered with the state Department of Education to volunteer at the food bank, according to a release from the school.

On Nov 4th, TEECS participated in raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness. The students who participated were allowed to wear pink for the day. As a whole school we raised $ 321.00. So proud of everyone !! Thank you to all who helped out. We will be donating the money to The American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Abhisha Desai was a guest speaker in our character education classes today. She is our current PTO president as well as a parent of two of our students.  She talked about time management with each class and she provided examples by  integrating different interactive activities with students.  The students enjoyed her presentations.

On Thursday, October 15, the K-2 students went on a field trip to the Oasis Family Farm. It was a perfect day for farm fun and pumpkin picking. The kids were able to enjoy the large playground with swings, slides, climbing structures and a zip line. Then took a hey ride to the corn maze and pumpkin patch. Each child was able to pick out their own pumpkin to take home as well as make a sand art necklace. Delicious apple cider donuts were given to everyone as a snack to refuel. The day was enjoyed by all!
