On Feb. 12, students at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School in Franklin had a very exciting day, celebrating Thomas Edison's birthday with a few events.  The morning began with a visit from local Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan Jr.  Diegnan is a deputy speaker as well as a parliamentarian.  He is involved in many committees including: Education - Chair , Consumers Affair - Vice Chair and Regulated Professions.

 

While he was visiting the school, Diegnan enjoyed a tour and visited the K-2 classrooms. He also met with some department chairs teachers and the school's Green Team coordinator.

See the top charter scores in New Jersey for PARCC

Here are the top New Jersey charter schools in grades 3 though 11 for math and language arts categories for the PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) exams.

The PARCC test results placed students in five categories. These rankings reflect the schools in each category that had the highest percent of students in Level 5, defined as "Exceeding Expectations."

Language Arts scores run straight through grades 3-11. Math runs through grades 3-7 and then largely shifts to subject areas.

FRANKLIN – (Somerset) – New Jersey Department of Education Commissioner David Hespe and Chief Innovation Officer Evo Popoff visited the Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School, according to a statement.

SOMERSET — The Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter Elementary School decided to trunk or treat outside for Halloween.

 

The students grabbed candies from our parents' cars and had lots of fun.
