COW'S EYE DISSECTION
Students in 4 G and 4 T dissected a Cow's Eye to learn the structure and function of mammalian eyes. Students identified that the mammalian eye consists of many specialized structures and these structures have certain functions and together, they form images that are interpreted by the brain.
Students had fun doing the dissection . On the whole it was a great learning experience. Few students commented on how they would like to become a surgeon when they grow up !!!
PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL CHANGES of MATTER
Students in 3G are in a unit about matter. To help understand the difference between physical and chemical changes, the students demonstrated both. Students added baking soda to water to see it dissolve. Then, students combined hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, warm water, and yeast to make elephant toothpaste. When combining the yeast to the hydrogen peroxide students were able to see the chemical change occurring by watching it foam/ touch the foam to see the temperature rose.
